►Moleben Services - During the month of May, Moleben services will be held on Fridays at 6:00 PM. These services are dedicated to seeking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her maternal heavenly protection for our families, parish, and especially for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. We will pray for peace in Ukraine and throughout the world. Please make an effort to attend these spiritually enriching services. Let us take time to come together in prayer and strengthen our community!
►Restrooms Remodeling {church basement} – This past week, remodeling work began in the church basement restrooms. One restroom will be unavailable for use during this time. However, the other restroom is fully operational, and all those in need will be able to use it. Once the first restroom is completed, work will move on to the second restroom.
►First Confession & Solemn Communion will be celebrated on Sunday, May 18, 2025 with a Solemn Divine Liturgy at 8:30am: The candidates this year are: Amelia Potter, Emma Warchal, Nikolai Nevidomsky and Liam Recckio. Please pray that God bless them with all necessary graces, as they are making this important step forward in their spiritual life
► Old Family Photos and Memorabilia - A few years ago, I reached out in the church bulletin asking for donations of old family photos and items connected to our parish’s history. Many of you kindly responded, and we received wonderful pieces—wedding photos of parents and grandparents, baptism and First Communion pictures, snapshots from church picnics and festivals, and more. I am once again appealing to your generosity. As we prepare for our jubilee celebration next year, we are looking to collect more of these meaningful items. They will be carefully preserved in the church archive and may be featured in our jubilee commemorative book. Often, these precious memories are safer with us than at home, where younger generations may not realize their value or know how to preserve them. Thank you for helping us honor and preserve our shared parish history!
►Next Festival Meeting – will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 6:00PM (church hall). All volunteers and particularly the coordinators of the working teams, please join us at this meeting.
►125th Parish Anniversary - Dear Parishioners, as I have mentioned on several occasions, this year our focus is on several important restoration projects in preparation for the 125th Anniversary of our parish that will be celebrated next year. These include replacing the church roof shingles, restoring the domes, and planning for the interior painting of the church.
At present, two roofing companies are preparing their estimates for the work. I am also working with our Jubilee Team to identify a third contractor, so that we may obtain a third estimate. Once all three estimates are received, I will submit them to the Eparchial Chancery for consultation and final approval by His Excellency Bishop Paul Chomnycky. This step is essential before selecting the company that will carry out the work. I will continue to keep you informed of our progress through the church bulletin. I am confident that our parish community will respond generously to support these much-needed projects, which are essential for preserving our church for future generations .Once all the necessary information and cost estimates are finalized, I will send out a fundraising letter to all parishioners. Let us remain united in prayer, asking for God's blessings and guidance as we responsibly care for our beloved church in anticipation of this significant milestone. Blessings and peace to all! Fr. Vasile
